ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION CONDITIONS
They must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field or in the fields determined by the administrative board of the institute with the recommendation of the department/art major. They must have the ALES standard score to be determined by the Senate provided that it is not less than 55 standard points from the score type of the program applied for ALES, a central exam conducted by OSYM or they must receive an equivalent score from an exam regarded as equivalent to ALES by the Interuniversity Board.
A valid ALES certificate for foreign students who graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in Turkey, a Turkish proficiency certificate from TÖMER and an equivalence certificate of a diploma accepted by YÖK for foreign students who graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program abroad are required. Those who do not have a Turkish proficiency certificate from TÖMER study at ERU TÖMER after the admission and registration processes and can start their master's degree after receiving a Turkish proficiency certificate.
Applications are evaluated by the administrative board of the institute according to the following principles and successful candidates are determined by considering the announced quotas.
a) In applications, all grades of the candidate to be evaluated are turned into an evaluation out of 100. In the calculation of transformation from a different system to a 100 point grading system in those whose graduation averages are in 100 point system along with the ones in a different system (4.00, 3.00 grading systems etc.) and only those in the different grading system (4.00, 3.00 grading systems etc.), 100 point grading system transformation table of the Higher Education Council is taken as a basis.
b) In the evaluation of student admission to master's programs with thesis, 50% of the ALES score, 30% of the undergraduate grade point average and 20% of the foreign language score are summed up if there is no interview in the entrance exam. In the departments where the interview exam is made, 50% of the ALES score, 15% of the undergraduate grade point average, 15% of the foreign language score and 20% of the interview exam are summed up. The total score must be at least 50. The foreign language score of the candidates who do not have a foreign language certificate from YDS or an exam accepted by the Interuniversity Board is calculated as zero. Candidates above 50 points are placed in the relevant programs according to the quotas announced in an order from the highest score. In case of the equality of points, the candidate with a high ALES score is preferred. The candidate who does not take the interview exam is considered unsuccessful.
